Treatments for Men
Injectable treatments are not just for women. At Perfectly You Aesthetics, we have a growing number of male clients who are looking to refresh their appearance, maintain a youthful look, and boost their confidence.
Factors such as stress, sun exposure, lifestyle, diet, and genetics can all influence how our skin ages. Whilst ageing is completely natural, a little help along the way can soften the signs of ageing and help you look like a fresher version of yourself.
Anti-Wrinkle Injections (Botox)
One of the most popular treatments amongst our male clients is anti-wrinkle injections, commonly known as Botox.
For men, the most commonly treated areas include:
Crow's Feet (Around the Eyes)
The fine lines that develop around the outer corners of the eyes can become more noticeable when smiling, squinting, or spending time in the sun. These lines often become particularly visible in photographs and can contribute to a tired or aged appearance. Anti-wrinkle injections can help soften these lines whilst maintaining a natural, masculine look.
Forehead Lines
Horizontal lines across the forehead are often one of the earliest signs of ageing. Treatment can help smooth these lines whilst preserving natural facial movement and expression.
Frown Lines (Between the Brows)
Often referred to as "11 lines", these can create an angry, stressed, or tired appearance even when your face is relaxed. Treatment can soften these lines and create a more refreshed appearance.
All treatments are tailored to the individual, taking into account facial anatomy, lifestyle, and desired results. Our aim is always to achieve a natural outcome that leaves you looking refreshed rather than treated.
Understanding Anti-Wrinkle Injections
Anti-wrinkle injections (commonly known as Botox®) work by temporarily relaxing specific muscles that are responsible for creating lines and wrinkles. By reducing the movement of these muscles, the skin is able to sit more smoothly, helping to soften existing lines and prevent them from becoming deeper over time.
How Is Botox Measured?
Botox is supplied in a small vial and is measured in units. There is no fixed number of units required for every person or every treatment. Factors such as muscle strength, muscle size, gender, lifestyle, and previous treatments can all influence how much product is required.
At Perfectly You Aesthetics, we charge per treatment area rather than per unit. This allows us to use the amount of product needed to achieve the best possible result without compromising treatment quality.
Examples of treatment areas include:
-
Crow's feet (both eyes) – 1 area
-
Frown lines (between the eyebrows) – 1 area
-
Forehead lines – 1 area
Although the forehead is often thought of as one area, it is commonly divided into separate treatment zones because different muscle groups are responsible for different movements and facial expressions. Treating these areas correctly requires an understanding of facial anatomy and muscle balance to achieve a natural result.
Masseter (Jaw) Botox
Masseter Botox is becoming increasingly popular amongst male clients.
The masseter muscles sit at the angle of the jaw and are responsible for chewing. Some people naturally have very strong or enlarged masseter muscles, whilst others develop them through teeth grinding, jaw clenching, TMJ dysfunction, or stress.
Treatment can help to:
-
Reduce jaw tension and discomfort
-
Improve symptoms associated with teeth grinding
-
Relieve pressure caused by excessive clenching
-
Soften an overactive jaw muscle
-
Create a slimmer, more balanced jawline appearance
Many clients report feeling less tension through their jaw and face following treatment.
Trap Botox (Trapezius Botox)
Whilst many men aim to build larger trapezius muscles through training, there are situations where treating this area may provide significant benefits.
If you regularly experience:
-
Neck tension or stiffness
-
Pain through the shoulders and upper back
-
Recurrent neck strains whilst driving or working at a desk
-
Muscle tightness linked to jaw clenching or TMJ symptoms
-
Persistent tension that does not improve with stretching or massage
Then Trap Botox may be worth discussing during your consultation.
By relaxing overactive trapezius muscles, treatment may help reduce discomfort, improve posture, and relieve chronic muscle tension. Suitability varies from person to person, which is why a full consultation is always required before treatment.
Why Do Prices Vary?
The larger and stronger the muscle being treated, the more product is typically required. This is why some treatments are more expensive than others.
Male clients often require more product than female clients due to naturally larger and stronger muscle groups. During your consultation we will assess your anatomy and recommend the most appropriate treatment plan for your goals.
Prescription Requirements
Botox is a prescription-only medicine in the UK. This means it cannot legally be supplied without an appropriate prescription.
As a prescription medication, Botox is not inexpensive to purchase and must be prescribed by a qualified medical prescriber.
